Frequently Asked Questions

How do we start working together?

Please send me an email at kasyansvetlana@gmail.com or fill out the contact form in “contact me” page. In your inquiry, please include your name, contact info, what type of therapy you are looking for and the reasons behind it.

I will respond to you at my earliest convenience to figure out if we can work together.

A free 20min phone or Zoom call can be scheduled after the initial email exchange as an opportunity for me to learn more about you and your goals, as well as for you to learn more about me and my practice.

How much does it cost to work with you?

Rates depend on the service.

Individual therapy session is $250 and lasts 50 minute. If you experience financial difficulty, please note I offer a sliding fee which can be discussed during our initial call.

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy: Prep and integration sessions are $200. 1st KAP of 3hrs is $500, the subsequent sessions of 2-2.5hrs are $400.

I also do couple and group treatment, please contact me directly for details and rates. I accept Venmo and Zelle.

What is the price of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?

KAP begins with a comprehensive medical assessment by a medical provider I work with and this assessment can range from $225 to $350 (depending if you are in NJ or NY).

In order to make KAP treatments more accessible and financially affordable, I provide KAP at the discount prices that my normal fees. Such as prep and integration sessions are $200 each. 1st KAP of 3hrs is $500, the subsequent session of 2-2.5hrs are $400. For couple and group work, please contact me directly for details.

If we do more than 2 KAP sessions, you will need a follow-up appointment with a medical provider to be approved for more sessions and it costs $150. Once approved, you will get up to 4 KAP sessions.

Ketamine itself per session is approximately $10 and you will pay that directly to the pharmacy that will prepare and send it directly to you.

What is the process of having KAP?

During our initial 20 min consultation I will let you know if you are a good candidate for KAP and we will schedule the 1st therapy session.

After our 1st session, I will submit all the necessary information to the medical team and you will contact them to make an appointment that will be conducted via Zoom.

If you already work with a therapist, with your permission, I will contact them in order to collaborate with them to make sure you have the best care possible.

Once approved for KAP by the medical team, we will have 2 additional sessions focused on therapy, as well as to set clear intentions for a KAP session.

KAP session can be done virtually or from my home office in Rockland County. The initial KAP session will last 3 hours, the subsequent ones will be 2-2.5 hours, and will be therapy focused. You will need a friend or family member to keep an eye on you if you do it from your home or if you come to my home office, you will need a friend or family member to pick you up. Driving after a KAP session is not highly discouraged.

We will schedule a virtual integration session a day or two after your KAP session.

We will assess after the initial KAP session a plan forward.

Can I use ketamine if I’m taking other meds?

Usually, yes. Ketamine has very few contraindications. During your medical intake all meds will be discussed and you will be advised accordingly.

How many KAP sessions do I need to see the results?

It really depends on your symptoms and your needs. Some people do 2-3 KAP sessions, but more often, especially with treatment resistance depression and PTSD, a series of 4-6 sessions are recommended, with subsequent occasional maintenance sessions.

Do you have a sliding fee?

Yes, I have a few sliding fee spots reserved for those in a financial difficulty. Please contact me directly to discuss.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider only (OON). Please contact your insurance directly to find out if you have out-of-network benefits and what they are. Questions to ask: do I have out-of-network coverage? How much is my annual deductible? Has it been met for this year? What is the co-insurance once the deductible is met? Please note that you don’t need to ask questions specifically related to KAP.

I will provide you with a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance to seek reimbursement.

Where is your office located?

My home office is located in Rockland County, New York. It’s 50 min drive from mid-town Manhattan and 20 min drive from Tarrytown and Nyack.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a minimum 24-hour notice or the full fee will be charged. In some cases such as due to emergency or illness with less than 24 hr notice, I will do my best to try to re-schedule you, but if unable I will charge my full fee. Thank you for your understanding!
